Inès Michelotto

Inès Michelotto is a multidisciplinary artist from Italy, currently living and working in London. Her artistic pursuits encompass a diverse range of artistic endeavours, spanning from crafting costumes for theatre and film to the intricacies of drawing and her primary medium, painting. Ines dedicates significant attention to her experiences as a transgender woman, a central theme that resonates throughout her work. Drawing inspiration from expressionists like Otto Dix, and the masters of portraiture such as Paula Rego and Alice Neel, In additton to a self-portrait Edged includes intimate portraits friends and acquaintances conducted by Ines with innate sensitivity. Black White Gallery's group show 'Edged: An Ode To Mapplethorpe' was the first time the artist has ever exhibited her paintings.
